PANORAMiC SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION
CORE PROJECT:
”TO THE STRONGEST” PRIDE CONCERT WITH MARU HARU - MAY 31 & June 1
MINI PROJECT:
“VIVE LA MUSIQUE” WITH CENTRAL TEXAS PHILHARMONIC - May 4
Singers are welcome to register for either one OR BOTH of our upcoming projects. Depending on interest, we may asking singers who register for both to choose one or the other in order to allow more singers to participate overall. Please read the descriptions of each below, and look at all rehearsal dates before registering—then indicate your preferences in the registration form (at the bottom of the page). As always, contact juli@panoramicvoices.org with questions or concerns.
All rehearsals will be held at Northwest Hills United Methodist’s Sanctuary (7050 Village Center Drive, Austin, TX) unless otherwise noted.
MINI PROJECT: VIVE LA MUSIQUE
Our mini project for Spring 2025 is a collaboration with our friends at Central Texas Philharmonic, who will be performing a full concert of works by Boulanger, Debussy, and Ravel. Panoramic Voices will only be singing Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé: Suite No. 2, (approximately 4 minutes of challenging music) with the orchestra. Additionally, treble voices will sing Debussy’s Nocturnes.
This is a condensed project with single rehearsals periodically throughout the spring, STARTING IN JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
Singers should be comfortable learning their parts from practice tracks and music at home, as we will only rehearse a few times for this one. In other words, while all are welcome, this project may be challenging for beginners.
SCHEDULE:
CONCERT: Sunday, May 4 (afternoon) in Georgetown, TX
REHEARSALS:
Thursdays (7-9pm): Feb 27, March 6, March 13
Saturdays (9am-12pm): March 8, April 26, May 3
CAPACITY: We will be able to accommodate 70 singers for this performance (plus up to 20 non-performance track singers who wish to come to rehearsals only).
ATTENDANCE: SINGERS MAY ONLY MISS ONE REHEARSAL FOR THIS PROGRAM. You should be prepared to practice and learn music at home using our resources. Contact Juli before registering if you have more than one scheduled absence.
CORE PROJECT: TO THE STRONGEST (A PRIDE CONCERT)
We’ll close our official season by kicking-off another important one: PRIDE. Panoramic is thrilled to partner with this exceptional Austin-based indie rock band, whose songs portray Asian American and queer experiences, making peace with family and society, and moving along with empathy. With a full complement of strings, keyboard, and percussion, Maru Haru will be the perfect collaborator for our large choir, which will both provide choral accompaniment to the band’s original pieces and perform additional works by LGBTQIA+ composers/arrangers. Join us for a PRIDE celebration featuring a band we know you’ll be hearing a lot from soon.
This is our core project for spring; it will be offered in the traditional Panoramic format with 10 rehearsals, and an abundance of learning tools for singers of every skill level! Beginners will likely enjoy this format more than the mini-project format.
